EVIT Foundation Helps by Providing Scholarships for HS Students

Updated: Jun 4

April 6, 2021 - EVIT Foundation Helps by Providing Technical and Career Specific Scholarships for High School Students. Foundation Accepting Donations via EVITFoundation.org on Arizona Gives Day Tuesday, April 6

PHOENIX, Ariz. –  The mission of the East Valley Institute of Technology Educational Foundation is to secure donations from individuals and corporations for distribution among local students by way of scholarships. The funding paves the way for students facing financial challenges to further their education at the East Valley Institute of Technology, a school dedicated to developing technical excellence and job-ready graduates.

Established 20 years ago with the sole purpose of providing financial support for students from 10 East Valley high schools, the Foundation helps students in need cover the expenses associated with the school’s two-year career- or technical-training programs.  Today, no qualified student is denied licensing and certification due to financial constraints.

This past school year alone, the EVIT Education Foundation has provided over $72,000 in scholarship funds and assisted 220 plus local high school students who may have been unable to attend EVIT otherwise. Many of these students are “job ready” trained and certified in their chosen field. With growing costs of certification, industry necessary tools and supply fees there is a clear need to continue raising funds for this program and future students.  The support of local businesses and individual donors is critical to the Foundation’s scholarship program and in the spirit of Arizona Gives, we are asking you to consider donating to this amazing cause.

“The money received through donations helps fund everything from a student’s vocational certification and licensure fee to his or her uniforms, tools, equipment and other supplies,” said Dennis Brown, Head of the Scholarship Committee. “Many seniors set to complete their training this May and already have job offers in essential industries such as construction, automotive and healthcare.”  Donations are tax deductible and qualify for AZ Tax Credits.

All donations made to the EVIT Foundation help pave the way for career-minded students to develop the skills they need to become self-supporting, productive members of the workforce. To learn more about the mission of the EVIT Foundation or to donate please visit EVITFoundation.org
