December 8, 2021 - EVIT Education Foundation Gourmet Breakfast Fundraiser presented by Chapman Automotive Group Raises More Than $140,000 in Scholarship Funds for East Valley Students. 350+ Attendees Generate Funds for Students to Undergo Vocational, Career Training at East Valley High Schools.
PHOENIX, Arizona – This year’s East Valley Institute of Technology Education Foundation, Inc., fundraiser brought in more than 350 guests, dozens of new sponsors and partners, and more than $140,000 to help underserved East Valley students.
Held Wednesday, Nov. 3 in the Culinary Arts Banquet Hall on the EVIT Main Campus, the annual Breakfast Fundraiser featured appearances by Maricopa County Sherriff Paul Penzone, Veronica Penzone, Crash Gladys and Kenny Sargent of SpeedFreaks (a nationally syndicated motorsports and lifestyle radio show) fame. The Penzone’s spotlighted the importance of contributing to support programs that provide opportunities for students who might otherwise face financial barriers.
The event generates funding for scholarships that help vocational and career-minded East Valley students learn a trade while simultaneously earning their high school diplomas. Past scholarship recipients also had a hand in the event, with dozens of East Valley Institute of Technology culinary students preparing the gourmet breakfast served.
“This event is special because it gives our donors and supporters a chance to meet the students they help and experience their generosity at work,” said the EVIT Education Foundation’s Chairman of the Board, Curt Krizan. “Last year, we helped more than 300 students develop the skills they need to land rewarding careers straight out of high school, and given how many donors, sponsors and partners stepped up this year, we see ourselves exceeding this number in 2022.”
Major sponsors of this year’s fundraiser include presenting sponsor Chapman Chevrolet as well as McCarthy Building Companies, San Tan Ford, George Brazil Plumbing & Electrical among many others. Event organizers also acknowledged the ongoing generous contributions of Craig Berge and the Berge family and the late Pat Langlin Brazil of George Brazil Plumbing and Electrical, awarding both Lifetime Achievement Awards in recognition of their continued commitment to the cause.
The EVIT Education Foundation also enjoys longstanding relationships with annual partners and Friends of the Foundation, many of whom have lengthy histories supporting EVIT students and EVIT Education Foundation scholarships and programming.
